Fortescue adds iron ore resources at Solomon Hub

Australian-miner Fortescue Metals Group has announced that it has added 1.16 billion mt of mineral resources to its Greater Solomon iron ore mine, following a drilling program.
 
Fortescue stated that total Greater Solomon mineral resources have increased to 2.66 billion, bringing the total mineral resources at the Solomon Hub, which includes the Firetail and Kings Valley projects, to over 4.5 billion mt.
 
Fortescue also announced an increase in the mineral resource inventory at its Eliwana-Flying Fish project, estimated at 740 million mt, an increase of 116 million mt over the estimate announced in 2011.
