The Italian Competition Authority has included two Italian rebar producers, Ferriere Nord and Riva Acciaio, in its investigation launched in October 2015 on major Italian companies that produce and sell rebar and steel mesh.

This inclusion came after a separate investigation regarding Nuovo Campsider Association, a branch of the Italian steel association Federacciai, found that market information regarding scrap was shared among Italian steel producers.

The investigation addresses the issue of a horizontal agreement coordinating at least two components of sales price for both rebar and mesh (i.e., base price and size extras). The investigation will be completed by December 31, 2016.
