Ferrexpo’s iron ore output increases by 7.4 percent in Q1

In the first quarter this year, Swiss-headquartered miner Ferrexpo, whose main interest are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, managed to strengthen its production results. 

In the January-March period this year, the company’s iron ore production increased by 7.4 percent year on year to 2.725 million mt. In particular, the company’s output of pellets from iron ore with 65 percent Fe content totaled 2.652 million mt, up 9.1 percent year on year, though its output of pellets from iron ore with 62 percent Fe content moved down by 31.8 percent year on year to 73,330 mt. 

The sales volumes in the first quarter this year are expected to increase to 2.8 million mt from 2.6 million mt in the same period of the previous year, SteelOrbis understands.
