Ferrexpo appoints new chief operating officer

Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced the appointment of Brian Maynard as the group's chief operating officer with effect from January 10, 2011.

Mr. Maynard has extensive operational experience in bulk commodities, having managed various large-scale mining divisions throughout his 30-year career at Vale Australia (Coal) and Vale Inco (Canada Nickel).

Commenting on the new appointment, Ferrexpo CEO Kostyantin Zhevago said, "I believe Brian's considerable expertise will complement the existing skills of the group's operational team, ensuring that we have the requisite know-how to further successfully develop our assets."
