Fake applications mar potential SteelCorr construction jobs

People are already lining up to work on construction of the new SteelCorr mill in Columbus, Mississippi, unfortunately Lowndes County officials were not aware it was time to start accepting applications. A news report from a local paper there says that at least 100 people have been tricked into filling out fake applications to work on the site. However, county officials are not dismissing this as a harmless joke since the prankster apparently charged $5 a piece to have people fill out a general county application with the company’s name stamped at the top. Construction of the $725 million dollar steel mill is expected to take 20 months and employ 2’000 people. When it is complete, the mill will turn scarp iron into 1.5 million tons of high-grade steel for the auto industry.
