According to news reports, sheriff deputies from St. James Parish, Louisiana, are investigating an explosion at Nucor's DRI plant near Convent, in the New Orleans area.  Sheriff Willy Martin said the explosion occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, apparently in one of the three domes on site that stores raw iron ore.

Early responders reported smoke and damage at the site, but as of press time there were no reports of injuries at the plant, which has not yet officially opened.
