Euro zone posts trade surplus in February
European Union (EU) statistics agency Eurostat disclosed that the Euro zone reported a foreign trade surplus of €3 billion in February 2005 against a trade deficit of €1.7 billion in January 2005.
Exports fell 0.4% month on month in February, while imports dropped 0.6% month on month.
Among EU members,
Germany reported the largest trade surplus (€13.1 billion) in January 2005. The
Netherlands saw a trade surplus of €2.4 billion,
Ireland €2.3 billion and
Sweden €1.2 billion.
