Euro area annual inflation rises to 1.5% in Nov compared to Oct

Annual inflation in the euro area was 1.5 percent in November this year, up from 1.4 percent in October, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In November last year, the annual inflation rate was 0.6 percent.

Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-28) annual inflation was 1.8 percent in November, up from 1.7 percent in October. In November 2016, the annual inflation rate in the EU-28 was 0.6 percent.

The lowest inflation rates in November this year were observed in Cyprus (0.2%), Ireland (0.5%) and Finland (0.9%), whereas the highest annual rates were recorded in Estonia (4.5%), Lithuania (4.2%) and the United Kingdom (3.1%). Compared with October, annual inflation fell in four member states, remained stable in nine and rose in 15.
