The European Commission (EC) has announced the initiation of an antidumping (AD) investigation regarding certain stainless steel tube and pipe butt-welding fittings from China and Taiwan.
According to the complaint filed by the Defense Committee of the Stainless Steel Butt-Welding Fittings Industry of the European Union, there is evidence "that imports of the product under investigation from the countries concerned have increased overall in absolute terms and have increased in terms of market share."
The EC will determine whether the products subject to investigation have been dumped and whether this dumping has caused material injury to the industry in the European Union. Final results will be issued within 15 months; on the other hand, preliminary measures might be imposed within nine months.
The products covered by the investigation currently fall within CN codes 7307 23 10 and 7307 23 90.
