The European Commission has announced that it has imposed a preliminary antidumping (AD) duty on imports of certain heavy plate imports of non-alloy or other alloy steel from China.

The provisional antidumping (AD) duty rates range between 65.1 percent and 73.7 percent for the given products.

The investigation was launched on February 13 this year upon the complaint from the European Steel Association (EUROFER), alleging that these imports from China are being dumped and are thereby causing material injury to the EU industry. The investigation covers the period from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015.

The products subject to preliminary antidumping duty currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7208 51 20, 7208 51 91, 7208 51 98, 7208 52 91, 7208 90 20, 7208 90 80, 7225 40 40, 7225 40 60 and 7225 99 00.
