The European Commission has announced that it has decided to impose definitive antidumping (AD) duty on imports of certain stainless steel wires originating in India following a partial interim review, requested by Indian exporting producer Venus Group, including the companies Venus Wire Industries Pvt. Ltd, Precision Metals, Hindustan Inox. Ltd, Sieves Manufacturer India, Pvt. Ltd and Venus Edelstahl GmbH, and also requested by Indian producer Garg Inox Ltd. The request was limited in scope to the examination of dumping as far as the applicants were concerned. The review investigation covered the period from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015.
In their requests, the applicants claimed that the circumstances on the basis of which antidumping measures were imposed have changed and that these changes are of a lasting nature. The applicants provided evidence that the continued imposition of the measures at the current level was no longer necessary to offset injurious dumping.
Following the review investigation, the revised antidumping duty rate for Venus Group companies stands at 6.9 percent (declining from 9.9 percent) and for Garg Inox Ltd the revised antidumping duty rate is 10.3 percent (declining from 13.7 percent).
The products in question currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7223 00 19 and 7223 00 99.
