EU-27 construction output down 0.6 percent in November over October

According to the initial estimates released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, in November 2009 the seasonally-adjusted production of the construction sector in the European Union member states (EU-27) decreased by 0.6 percent month on month and was down 6.7 percent compared to November 2008. In October, the production figure had fallen by 0.3 percent compared to September.

As compared to October 2009, construction output in November rose in Slovakia by 13.7 percent, in Portugal by 4.1 percent and in Romania by 2.9 percent, while year-on-year increases of 8.8 percent, 6.4 percent and  3.8 percent respectively were registered in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany.
