Employment in EU-27 remains stable in Q3 2010

In the third quarter of 2010, the seasonally adjusted data for the number of persons employed in the European Union member states (EU-27) were stable compared to the previous quarter, according to first estimates released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In the second quarter, employment in the region had grown by 0.1 percent quarter on quarter.

As compared to the third quarter of 2009, employment in the EU-27 regressed by 0.2 percent in the third quarter this year.

In the quarter in question, employment in manufacturing fell by 0.2 percent and was down one percent in construction, both compared to Q2 2010.
