EIPR expresses support for HADISOLB workers’ demands

During the third week of the workers' strike at Egyptian Iron and Steel (HADISOLB), the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) has urged the government to respond to the workers' demands which it said are not contrary to the law. The strike started on November 26, with the workers welding shut the factory gates in Helwan last week.
 
13,000 workers are owed a EGP 192 million ($28 million) share in profits for a period of 16 months. The workers also demanding an improvement in working standards.
