EG coil line of WISCO’s CR mill No. 2 to start production in August

The electro-galvanized (EG) coil production line of Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel's (WISCO) cold rolling mill No. 2, on which construction work started in February 2008, is expected to commence production in August this year.

The production line is being built by Wuhan, Hebei-based WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited, using advanced technology from Austria and equipment from France-headquartered international company Alstom. The designed output capacity is 0.3 million mt per year of 0.3-1.6 mm × 900-1,850 mm products, mainly for the household appliance and automobile industries.
