Hubei Province-based Chinese steel producer Echeng Iron and Steel Co. (Echeng Steel), a subsidiary of Chinese steel giant Hubei-based Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO), has announced that it has developed production of ultra-thin galvanized sheet of 0.2 mm thickness at its cold rolled sheet plant, marking another breakthrough following its development of 0.3 mm galvanized sheet production in September this year.

Echeng Steel launched construction of its cold rolled steel sheet plant in July 2005 and commissioned production in November 2007. The original designed thickness range of the plant's products was 0.35-2.0 mm.
