DMKD speeds up construction of ladle furnace no. 2

Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD),  a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has activated works to install ladle furnace no. 2. The company has almost completed all construction works. Azovintex company is installing the equipment of the ladle furnace. The installation of the furnace crown and the bulk solids channel has already completed.

The company will invest around UAH 203 million ($25.375 million) in the construction of the furnace with production capacity of 2.3 million mt of steel per year. The start-up of the furnace is scheduled for the end 2011 - beginning 2012.

In 2011 investments in the production development of DMKD will be UAH 312 million ($39 million), while in 2010 the company invested more than UAH 200 million ($25 million).
