Despite continuous sluggish domestic demand for steel in Brazil, steel distributor Acovisa opened two new facilities today, the company said, located in the cities of Curitiba and Maringa, in the state of Parana.
The facilities are expected to meet the growing demand of the local auto parts, machines, tractors and replacement auto parts markets, the company said.
The two new facilities are expected to help the distributor increase revenues by 20 percent in 2017, year-on-year, although the company did not disclose any forecasted figures. Acovisa said it is a major Gerdau-affiliated distributor.
The Curitiba plant should be able to store 5,000 mt of steel, while the Maringa plant should have a 3,000 mt storage capacity.
