Dayton Superior reports second quarter earnings
Dayton, Ohio's Dayton Superior Corp., a manufacturer and distributor of metal accessories and forms used in concrete construction, reported second quarter 2005 net sales rose 2.2 percent due to price increases initiated in the second half of 2004, partially offset by a unit volume decline. Total sales were $117.7 million for the second quarter 2005, a 2.2 percent increase over the $115.2 million seen for the same period in 2004. Year-to-date net sales were reported as $203.5 million, a 0.04 percent decrease from same period in 2004. Rental revenue for the second quarter was reported as $12 million, a 17.5 percent increase from $9.9 million, for the second quarter 2004. Year-to-date 2005 rental revenue was $22.1 million, an increase of 13 percent over year-to-date 2004 rental revenue of $19.3 million. Edward J. Puisis, CEO said, "We saw a slight improvement in revenues in the second quarter of 2005 versus 2004, but are still disappointed that the market did not improve until mid-second quarter. We are pleased with the growth in rental revenues. We are optimistic about the market and expect our operating income for the second half and full year of 2005 to be an improvement over the comparable periods of 2004." Dayton Superior is the largest North American manufacturer and distributor of metal accessories and forms used in concrete construction, and a leading manufacturer of metal accessories used in masonry construction in terms of revenues.Dayton Superior reports second quarter earnings
