Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will upgrade the six-strand continuous billet caster of Turkish steel producer Diler Demir Çelik, located at the Dilovasi plant, near Istanbul. Commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.

Danieli stated that the upgrading project includes the complete replacement of the equipment installed along the caster curve for quality grades. One objective of the project is to minimize plant shutdown. The existing automation system will also be updated with additional controls for the new equipment and the new process parameters set up as required by the added quality grades.
