Asil Celik receives new billet caster

Turkish special quality steel producer Asil Celik, based in Orhangazi, Bursa in northwestern Turkey, has received its new three-strand billet caster, supplied by Swiss-based plant machinery supplier SMS Concast.
 
The continuous caster will produce round blooms at a diameter of 300 to 600 millimeters with a production capacity of 600,000 metric tons per year. The three-strand billet casting plant will start production in the first quarter of 2015.
 
The product range of Asil Celik includes hot rolled, heat-treated, alloyed, non-alloyed, as well as high-alloyed steel products in round, square, hexagonal, flat shapes, as well as sections for grading buckets.
