Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply a new plate mill complex consisting of a wide plate rolling mill and a plate treatment and finishing facility for Indian steelmaker Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI). Production of the first plates is scheduled for the second half of 2019.

Danieli stated that the new single-stand wide plate mill will be able to process metal plates up to 3,100 mm wide in a large range of special alloys, including titanium, super-alloy stainless steels and HSLA steels. Meanwhile, plate treatment and finishing facilities will consist of a dividing crop shear, a plate leveler, a roller hearth furnace and a continuous roller pressure-quenching machine.
