Austrian steelmaker voestalpine AG's subsidiary voestalpine Anarbeitung GmbH has secured a contract with Germany-based Daimler AG's commercial vehicle producer subsidiary Daimler Trucks regarding the production of axle components. This is the first time voestalpine Anarbeitung has participated in the axle components market.

According to a company release, the contract involves a three-digit million euro trading volume and will last for several years. The components will be completed at the Daimler axle plant in Kassel after being integrated at the assembly plant in Wörth. With 11,000 employees, Wörth is Daimler Trucks' largest and most modern assembly plant.

The ‘alphas-forming' reforming process, which has been patented by voestalpine Anarbeitung, will be used to manufacture the axle components, enabling light construction, the reduction of costs and high functionality of components in the field of commercial vehicles, far exceeding the requirements defined by the client.
