CSP’s all-time slab exports reach nearly 8 million mt

Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP), a joint venture between Vale, Posco and Dongkuk Steel, has exported 7.9 million mt of slab since its start-up in August 2016, according to the Ceara state-run port authority, Ceara Portos.

The milestone was reached in July 2019, and accounts for accumulated slab exports from August 2016 to July 2019. As for the first seven months of 2019, from January to July, CSP slab exports totaled 1.77 million mt.

In the full year of 2018, CSP exported 2.96 million mt of the product, and another 2.62 million mt in the full year of 2017. In its first year of operation, 2016, CSP exported 602,195 mt of slab.

CSP has exported its product to the US, Turkey, South Korea, Italy, Poland, Thailand, Mexico, Germany, Canada, the UK, France, Spain, Taiwan, Indonesia, Morocco, China, Romania, Croatia, Argentina and Belgium.
