CSP exceeds slab export goal in 2017

Brazilian slab producer Companhia Siderurgica do Pecem (CSP)—a JV co-owned by Vale, Dongkuk and Posco—said this week it exported 2.98 million mt of slab between June 2016 and November 2017, above its target of 2.7 million mt for the period.

During the same period, CSP produced 3 million mt of slab. In November this year, CSP produced 231,382 mt of slab, out of which it exported 230,004 mt, according to a company statement.

CSP has exported slab to the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Canada, China, South Korea, the US, Indonesia, Morocco, Mexico, the UK, the Czech Republic, Romania, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, Germany. The company has also supplied a small portion of its slab to the Brazilian domestic market.
