Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corporation (
CSC) has announced that in July this year its steel
production volume improved by 8.08 percent month on month, reaching 851,091 metric tons, while the year-on-year increase was 14.44 percent. This represents the highest monthly
production volume recorded by the steelmaker since September 2008.
In July,
CSC's sales volume amounted to 849,051 metric tons, increasing by 8.05 percent as compared to June and up 1.56 percent year on year.
In the month in question, the steelmaker's sales revenues amounted to NTD 21.7 billion ($683.13 million), rising by 11.92 percent month on month and up 48.34 percent year on year, while its income before tax totaled NTD 4.32 billion ($135.85 million).
On the other hand, in the first seven months of this year,
CSC's total
production came to 5.7 million metric tons, up 35.11 percent, its sales volume amounted to 5.76 million metric tons, up 28.37 percent, while its sales revenue stood at NTD 131.9 billion ($4.15 billion), up 53.46 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2009. The company's profit before tax totaled NTD 31.77 billion ($999.94 million) in the given period.
