Crude steel output down in Germany
Germany's crude steel output fell 4% year on year to 3.70 million tons in May 2005, according to provisional data from Germany's Federal Statistical Office. Also, the country's pig iron output increased 0.2% year on year to 2.42 million tons. Compared to the previous month, however, May production of crude steel dropped off 5.2% and pig iron production fell 4.4%. Crude steel output totaled 19.26 million tons through the first five months of the year, while pig iron output amounted to 12.55 million tons.Crude steel output down in Germany
