Automotive vehicle sales in China in May this year rose by 1.9 percent year on year to 1.639 million units, the first year-on-year rise in the past 11 months, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In the January-May period of the year, automotive vehicle sales in China totaled 6.051 million units, down 26 percent year on year, mainly due to the early Chinese New Year holiday and the coronavirus pandemic in China.
