Work has commenced on the construction of a new Iranian steel plant, Damghan Kavir Steel, following the holding of a formal ceremony last week.
Damghan Kavir Steel is to be built in three phases, with the first phase to consist of a rolling mill with an annual capacity of 300,000 mt of rebar. The project is being built on a site of 1.5 hectares located close to the city of Damghan in northeastern Iran.
