Consortium led by India’s LEWL wins contract to build SAIL pellet plant

A consortium of India’s Lloyds Engineering Works Limited (LEWL), Primetals Technologies India Limited (PTIL) and Primetals Technologies Gmbh, Austria, has won a contract for the design and construction of a 4.3 million mt per year capacity pellet plant at Steel Authority of India Limited’s  IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal, a company statement said on Monday, November 3.

According to the letter of acceptance (LoA) issued by SAIL to the consortium, the value of the contract is around INR 6130 million ($69 million).

The project has been scheduled for completion within 36 months from the signing of the contract.
