Colombian iron and steel exports down 17.4 percent in H1

In the first half of this year, Colombia exported 63,256 mt of ferronickel, up 0.4 percent, with a value of $244.12 million, down by 15.7 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In June this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 11,015 mt, increasing by 9.9 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $36.63 million, down 35.1 percent, both compared to June 2014.
 
In the first six months of the current year, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 94,739 mt, down 17.4 percent, with a value of $290.29 million, declining by 19.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In June this year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 10,367 mt, decreasing by 53.4 percent, and were worth $44.72 million, down 35.9 percent, both compared to the same month of 2014.
