Coal shipments by China’s railways down 10.8 percent in January

China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has announced that in January this year coal shipments by Chinese railways amounted to 176 million mt, down 10.8 percent year on year.

In January this year, China’s imports and exports of coal amounted to 15.23 million mt and 610,000 mt, down 9.2 percent and increasing by 161.9 percent year on year, respectively.
