China’s coal imports down 29.8 percent in January-September

In September this year, China’s coal exports and imports amounted to 730,000 mt and 17.77 million mt, respectively, up 65.9 percent and declining by 16.02 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on October 13. 

In the January-September period of the current year, China’s coal exports totaled 4.02 million mt, decreasing by 7.9 percent, while its coal imports amounted to 156.36 million mt, down 29.8 percent, both year on year.
