CISA: Coking coal purchase costs in China down 4.51 percent in Q1

In the January-March period this year, the weighted average purchase costs in China of coking coal, metallurgical coke, domestic production iron ore fines and ferrous scrap decreased by 4.51 percent, 13.68 percent, 3.86 percent and 15.33 percent, respectively, year on year, though the weighted average purchase cost of import iron ore fines rose by 3.25 percent, as announced by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

In March this year, the weighted average purchasing costs in China of coking coal, metallurgical coke and ferrous scrap decreased by 1.08 percent, 0.52 percent and 0.22 percent, though the weighted average purchase costs of Chinese domestic production fine iron ores (dry basis) and import fine iron ores increased by 2.88 percent and 4.31 percent, all month on month, respectively.
