CISA: Average iron ore prices in China move up during July

Iron ore prices in China indicated an upward trend during the month of July, as stated in a new report issued by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA).

At the end of July this year, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) stood at 260.28 points, up 31.49 points or 13.76 percent month on month. In particular, the domestic production iron ore price index stood at 224.83 points, up 11.10 points or 5.19 percent month on month, while the import iron ore price index stood at 265.64 points, increasing by 34.58 points or 14.97 percent month on month.

For the whole of July, the average China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was at 241.03 points, up 31.88 points or 15.24 percent month on month. In particular, the average domestic production iron ore price index was at 220.94 points, increasing by 12.42 points or 5.96 percent, while the average import iron ore price index stood at 244.06 points, rising by 34.83 points or 16.65 percent, both month on month.
