Chongqing Steel Group’s 2012 crude steel output totals 5.2225 million mt

On February 3, Chongqing-based Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel Co. (Group) Ltd announced that its output of crude steel amounted to 5.2225 million mt in 2012, while its sales revenue for the year reached RMB 25.916 billion ($4.18 billion) and its net profit totaled RMB 329 million ($53.1 million).
 
Additionally, in 2012 Chongqing Steel Group’s sales of shipbuilding steel amounted to 2.0053 million mt, accounting for a 19 percent share of the domestic shipbuilding steel market, ranking first in terms of share in the market in question.
 
Company general manager Zhao Shiqing stated that in 2013 Chongqing Steel Group is targeting an annual sales revenue of RMB 34 billion ($5.5 billion) and a net profit of RMB 100 million ($16.1 million). Furthermore, he added, in 2013 the company is targeting a coke output of 3.15 million mt, a pig iron output of 6.8 million mt, a crude steel output of 7 million mt and a finished steel output of 6.58 million mt.
