Chongqing Iron and Steel inks strategic cooperation deal with CSSC

Chongqing-based Chinese steelmaker Chongqing Iron and Steel has lately inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing-based Chinese state-owned shipbuilder China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
 
According to a press release by CSSC, Chongqing Steel will supply wide steel plates to CSSC within the framework of their long-term stable cooperation agreement. Details regarding the supply volumes involved have not been disclosed.
 
Chongqing Steel has been modernizing its steel plate production facilities in recent years. The steelmaker recently started the commissioning of its 4,100 mm wide plate production line. In June 2010, Chongqing Steel's 1,780 mm hot rolled plate (HRP) production line was put into operation.
