Chinese government implements control on coke investments

According to the statement made by Chinese Coke Association, central Chinese government plans to implement strict measures to hinder over-investments in coke plants. Government's concern is that, the possibility of run out of reserves. Accordingly, the government will implement a new regulation, restricting investments in coke plants. As reported by SteelOrbis, Shanxi province of China has recently announced that it will not approve projects regarding coking coal plants in the province to avoid from run out of reserves. In China, there are many coke oven constructions that are currently being conducted. The number of coke ovens throughout the country is 1'900 with a total capacity of 180 million tons. When the under-construction coke ovens are completed, the capacity will increase by 81 million tons.
