According to the latest data issued by the
China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), in late November (November 21-30) this year the average aggregate daily
crude steel output of the association's member companies was 1.5026 million mt, up 1.25 percent compared with mid-November (November 11-20). Based on this figure,
China's overall average daily
crude steel output for the given period has been calculated at around 1.6852 million mt, up 1.29 percent compared with mid-November (November 11-20).
Domestic steel prices in
China have been moving sideways, while raw material prices have declined. Accordingly, some Chinese mills began to increase output in the latter part of November. However,
China's overall average daily
crude steel output in November decreased to 1.70 million mt, which is the lowest level of any month this year, having declined for the fifth consecutive month.
