Chinese coal output capacity expected to increase in 2012

At a National Energy Works Meeting held in Beijing on January 10, Liu Tiernan, director of China's National Energy Administration and vice director of China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated that he expected Chinese coal production capacity to increase by 200 million mt in 2012.

Speaking about 2012, Mr Liu said, "We will carry out major energy development programs, enhancing the storage capacity of petroleum, natural gas and coal. The coal production capacity of China is expected to increase by 200 million mt in 2012."
