China's steel exports reach 4.38 million mt in January

SteelOrbis Shanghai According to the latest figures released by the Chinese customs authorities, China's finished steel exports in January totaled 4.38 million mt, up 142 percent year on year and down 21 percent month on month. Meanwhile, imports totaled 1.48 million mt, down 6.2 percent year on year and 1.6 percent month on month. In January, semis exports reached 570,000 mt, up 93 percent year on year and 16 percent month on month. On the other hand, semis imports reached 30,000 mt, up 54.5 percent year on year. Iron ore imports totaled 35.85 million mt in January, up 31.9 percent year on year and 25 percent month on month.
