China’s retail sales of consumer goods up 8.0 percent in January-April

In the January-April period of the current year, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 12.8376 trillion ($1.9 trillion), up 8.0 percent year on year, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In April alone, China’s total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to RMB 3.0586 trillion ($0.45 trillion), rising by 7.2 percent year on year.

In particular, in the first four months this year, total automotive vehicle sales in China reached a value of RMB 1.2217 trillion ($0.18 trillion), decreasing by 3.1 percent year on year.
