Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it will supply a new two-strand, 12 m-radius continuous casting machine to Chinese steel producer Masteel. The new continuous casting machine will produce the largest beam blanks in the world. The largest among the three beam-blank sections will measure 1,300 mm x 510 mm x 140 mm. The caster, which will be supplied also with two twin-moulds, will enable the casting of 550 mm x 280 mm blooms on four strands.

Danieli stated that thanks to this investment Masteel will consolidate its leadership in the Chinese market for sections, with H-beams in sizes never reached before.
