China’s iron ore imports increase by 7.3 percent in January-February

In the January-February period this year, China imported 194.196 million mt of iron ore, up 7.3 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.  

Finished steel prices saw an increasing trend following the Chinese New Year holiday amid improved demand from downstream users, which bolstered iron ore prices and contributed to the rises in iron ore imports.
