China’s finished steel exports up 12 percent in Jan-Nov

In November of the current year, China's finished steel exports amounted to 5.00 million mt, down 70,000 mt month on month and down 2.53 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities on December 8. In the January-November period of the current year, China exported 56.97 million mt of finished steel, up 12 percent year on year.

In November, China imported 1.25 million mt of finished steel, up 110,000 mt month on month and rising by 17.92 percent year on year. In the January- November period, China's imports of finished steel totaled 12.87 million mt, up two percent year on year.

China did not export any semi-finished steel in the January-November period this year. On the other hand China's imports of semi-finished steel in the period in question totaled 510,000 mt, up 56.2 percent year on year.

In November, China imported 77.84 million mt of iron ore, up 10.01 million mt month on month and up by 18.33 percent year on year, while the average iron ore import price during the month was $128.33/mt, declining by 0.19 percent compared to the same month in the previous year. In the January-November period, China's imports of iron ore totaled 746.10 million mt, up 10.9 percent year on year, while the average iron ore import price during the given period was $129.17/mt, declining by 0.78 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in November, China's exports of metallurgical coke amounted to 680,000 mt, up 160,000 mt month on month, while the total coke export volume in the January-November period was 3.92 million mt, up 310.2 percent year on year.
