China’s coal imports up 34 percent in Jan-Sept

China's General Administration of Customs announced on October 24 that China's aggregate coal imports in September this year totaled 14.85 million mt, down 21.8 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, the country exported 525,891 mt of coal in the given month, decreasing by 56 percent on year-on-year basis. In September, China's net coal imports amounted to 14.3 million mt.

In the January-September period of this year, China's total coal imports amounted to 165.2 million mt, up 34 percent compared to the same period of last year.
