China’s coal imports down 38.2 percent in January-May

China exported 610,000 mt of coal in May this year, down 24.5 percent year on year, while it exported 1.88 million mt of coal in the first five months of the year, decreasing by 32.2 percent year on year, according to data issued by the Chinese customs authorities.

In May, China imported 14.25 million mt of coal, decreasing by 28.57 percent year on year, while its coal imports in the first five months amounted to 83.26 million mt, down 38.2 percent year on year.
