China’s coal imports decrease by 12.2 percent in January-August 2025

In the January-August period this year, China’s coal imports amounted to 299.937 million mt, down 12.2 percent year on year, as announced by the Chinese customs authorities.

In August alone, China’s coal imports reached 42.737 million mt, up 20.0 percent month on month, while down 6.8 percent year on year.
