China’s average daily crude steel output up slightly in Nov over Oct

In November this year, the average aggregate daily crude steel output of Chinese steelmakers totaled 1,916,000 mt, up 0.52 percent compared to October and rising by 13.7 percent year on year, according to the figures released by China’s National Bureau of Statistics.
 
In November, the total crude steel output of Chinese steelmakers amounted to 57.47 million mt, compared to 59.09 million mt in October.
 
Meanwhile, the total crude steel output of Chinese steelmakers in the January-November period amounted to 660 million mt, up 2.9 percent year on year. The National Bureau of Statistics predicted that total crude steel output in China may be close to 720 million mt for the whole year of 2012.
 
Market sources indicated that Chinese steel mills increased their output in November in order to make up for previous losses. Meanwhile, firm prices of finished steel products also provided support for their production.
