China to export locomotives for first time to EU

On August 23, Chinese state-run company China Northern Locomotive and Rolling Stock Industry (Group) Corporation (CNR) stated that its subsidiary Beijing Feb. 7th Railway Transportation Equipment Co. signed a contract for the supply of 16 shunting locomotives to AS EVR Cargo, based in Tallinn, capital of Estonia. This is the first time locomotives produced in China will enter the Estonian market, and will simultaneously be their first time entering the European Union market.

According to this contract, the supply of the shunting locomotives to Estonia will be carried out over the next two year.
